The UAE Junior Badminton Team has made history with an extraordinary performance at the Spanish International U19 Championship in Alicante, capturing gold and silver medals in both men's and women's singles while outshining traditional badminton giants like Thailand, Denmark, and Germany.

This stunning achievement not only placed the UAE at the summit of the overall medal standings but also announced the arrival of a new generation of badminton talent on the international stage.

In a tournament filled with breathtaking performances, 15-year-old Riyan Malhan emerged as the boys' singles champion, defeating older and higher-ranked opponents in spectacular fashion. His golden moment was complemented by teammate Adam Jeslin's silver medal finish - an incredible accomplishment for an athlete yet to celebrate his 15th birthday.

"This victory is beyond anything I imagined," said an elated Malhan. "The support from our coaches and federation has been incredible. I see this as just my first step toward representing UAE at even bigger tournaments."

The women's competition saw equally impressive results as second-seeded Prakriti Bharath dominated her bracket without dropping a match. Her championship run culminated in victory over compatriot Mysha Omer in an all-UAE final that showcased the depth of talent emerging from the nation's junior program.

"Every drop of sweat during training was worth it for this moment," Prakriti reflected after her triumph. "I hope our success shows young athletes across UAE that dreams can become reality through hard work."

The medal collection grew further when Jeslin teamed up with Mysha Omer to secure bronze in mixed doubles. The young pair caused one of the tournament's biggest upsets by eliminating Germany's second-seeded duo before their campaign ended against eventual champions from Thailand.
