Parkin has announced a series of new digital upgrades aimed at simplifying parking access across the city, making the process more efficient for residents, visitors, and organisations. The latest enhancements bring multiple permit services together within the Parkin app, allowing users to manage parking permissions, eligibility, and payments through a single, streamlined platform.

The update reflects Dubai’s ongoing push toward smarter urban mobility, with a focus on convenience, accessibility, and everyday ease of use. By consolidating permit applications and subscriptions into one system, Parkin aims to reduce friction for drivers while supporting a more connected city experience.

Expanded free parking permits for residents One of the most notable changes is the introduction of expanded free parking permit options for specific resident groups. Emirati residents can now access a residential parking permit that offers one year of free parking for up to five linked vehicles. The permit applies to public parking spaces within a 500-metre radius of the registered home address, helping households manage parking more efficiently.

Senior Emiratis receive an extended benefit under the updated system, with free parking access across all public zones for a three-year period. The coverage spans multiple parking categories, providing flexibility across different areas of the city and reducing the need for frequent renewals.

These changes are designed to improve daily mobility while lowering out-of-pocket parking costs for eligible residents.

Inclusive parking options for different needs The updated platform also expands inclusive parking access for People of Determination. Depending on eligibility, users can apply for long-term or short-term permits directly through the app. Permanent permits allow up to five linked vehicles and remain valid for three years, while shorter-term permits provide temporary access for approved cases.

Visitors to Dubai are also included in the new system, with short-duration parking access options available for limited stays of up to 60 days. This allows tourists and short-term visitors to navigate paid parking zones more easily without relying on separate processes.

Support for special circumstances and GCC residents Parkin has also introduced tailored parking access for residents facing special personal circumstances, ensuring free use of paid parking spaces near key facilities for a defined period. These permits are designed to provide flexibility and reduce daily stress during important life situations.

In addition, GCC nationals living in Dubai are now eligible for free residential parking permits valid for one year. The permit applies to up to two linked vehicles and covers public parking within 500 metres of the registered residence, aligning access with that offered to other resident groups.

New digital wallet for organisations Beyond individual drivers, Parkin has rolled out a new Business and Government Wallet to support companies and public entities with fleet and employee parking management. The digital wallet allows organisations to centralise parking payments, assign approved vehicles, and set usage rules based on time or purpose.

By moving these functions into one digital interface, organisations can reduce administrative overhead while maintaining greater control over parking expenses. The system is designed to scale with growing operational needs and support more efficient workplace mobility.
