Jewel Changi Airport Shatters Records in 2024 with Soaring Visitor Numbers and Retail Boom

2024 marked a historic milestone for Jewel Changi Airport as Singapore's premier lifestyle destination celebrated its most successful year since opening in 2019, surpassing pre-pandemic performance levels.
The dazzling retail and entertainment complex announced staggering growth figures on Monday (Jan 27), revealing an unprecedented surge in both visitor numbers and commercial performance throughout the past year.
From January to December 2024, Jewel welcomed over 80 million visitors - a remarkable 10% increase compared to the previous year. The shopping haven also reported a healthy 5% boost in overall sales revenue, with sales per square foot climbing by an impressive 6% year-on-year.
"The numbers tell an exciting story of recovery and growth," said a Jewel spokesperson. "International travelers played a significant role in our success, representing more than 35% of total foot traffic - that's a solid 7% increase from our international visitor count in 2023."
Global Appeal: Top Visitor Markets
The cosmopolitan destination attracted tourists from across the globe, with visitors from China, Taiwan, Malaysia, Australia and the Philippines forming its top five international markets. This diverse mix of travelers contributed significantly to Jewel's vibrant atmosphere throughout the year.
A Retail Paradise Expands Further
With over 260 retail outlets and dining establishments currently operating within its futuristic glass dome, Jewel continued expanding its brand portfolio last year by introducing thirty new names to its impressive lineup.

Shopping Additions: Fragrance house Montale Paris joined alongside popular collectibles retailer Pop Mart
The complex also served as launchpad for nine international brands making their Singapore debut including Hakka Yu Chinese restaurant chain Nai Xue tea house Royal Host Japanese-style western cuisine concept.
